Eric and I went to Tune-Yards last night. Meryl (who IS Tune-Yards) was
REALLY impressive. She is the real deal when it comes to inspired artistic
creativity, and she clearly doesn't care what anyone else thinks about her or
her work. I am amazed at how she layers music with loop pedals. I had a front
row spot, so I could see exactly how she did it. Her mind must work is a
really interesting way
to be able to imagine a finished product from all
those elements, but it works. If you've never heard TuneYards, it's one white
woman who sounds like an african man - and the music is really distinctive.
Give it a try.
I hated the opener, Pat Jordache. His vocal style was
irritating to me.
